Biography

My name is Ana Kjupeva, I’m an 19-year-old student at the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje, with an interest in the sciences. I’ve been hip-hop and street-style dancer at the Beatrix Cultural and Art Center for the last five years, and I am also very passionate about outdoor sports such as hiking and cycling. Currently, I volunteer for children’s causes at UNICEF, where I support the online initiative ‘Plant from Home.’ Moreover, I am an active social worker in the fields of youth activism and environmental change. Two years ago, I began volunteering at local events and became a member of the NGO ‘Youth Can.’ For the first time, I began organizing events for young people by raising awareness of the importance of youth activism. I also created a magazine for gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights together with other like-minded enthusiastic individuals. My biggest passions are working with children and helping those with disabilities – which was why I was glad to volunteer at a paediatric clinic. Last summer, I was a member of the ‘Helsinki Summer School for Human Rights,’ where I came to better understand the impacts of the fight for human rights. As an adventurous person who loves traveling and meeting new people, I began participating in Erasmus+ projects.
