No, since the whole application and selection is set up online, the quality of the process is not impeded. On the contrary, your participation, activism and enthusiasm can only inspire youth all over Western Balkans to be drivers of positive change and productive work online. The Kick-Off events and offline activities are scheduled for the autumn/winter season and will hopefully not be impeded either.
No, participation is free.

No, the YEA does not require you to submit a formal certificate. Your English proficiency will be assessed from the video you submit and your application form. No, ‘EU travel experience’ only refers to travel undertaken for educational purposes, not leisure.
The Young European Ambassadors initiative is committed to diversity and attracting candidates from all backgrounds. In particular, we would like to encourage young people who may not have had previous opportunities to take part in EU projects to apply for YEA. Therefore, your attendance of the above-listed events will not reduce your chances to become YEA, but the advantage will be given to your peers with less experience in training and exchange opportunities.
No, you only need basic skills in audio/visual content production.

Your video should explain, in your own words (remember English is the official language of the project),
what makes you the best choice for the Young European Ambassador network. Videos that do not provide an
answer to the main question, will be automatically excluded from the Voting process.
It is desirable that you do prior to submitting your application, as social media presence is one of the
presentation elements that will be taken into account by the YEA Jury. Once you apply, and/or if you are
selected, it then becomes a mandatory requirement.

the evaluation process.
The key difference relates to the levels of commitment and activities. Both roles are bound by the Volunteer Agreement; however, the Attaché’s participation is less demanding and limited to online activities, while the Ambassador participates in the full range of activities. Also, as in real life, in the event an Ambassador is unable to perform their duties, the Attaché steps in.
The Volunteer Agreement is a mutual agreement between the participant and the YEA project team setting out all duties and promises on both sides. The 60 selected members of the YEA Network are required to sign the Volunteer Agreement, thus becoming official YEAs and Attachés for the period 2020-2023. This Agreement is not legally binding and may be terminated upon mutual consent.
The 60 selected members of the YEA are introduced to each other on the orientation session, where they receive a welcome information pack, along with a plan and programme detailing their participation in the project.
